Dr
Jane Fenn Professional Profile
I moved from London 11 years ago to live and work in Kent. I have a
management background and have worked in the fashion industry and advertising.
I set up and ran three companies before studying specifically in psychology
(University of East London) to enhance my organizational management
abilities. I view myself as entrepreneurial in approach as both a therapist
and a consultant.
When I first came to Kent I worked as part of the community mental health
teams as a therapist and developed my private practice. I lectured at
the University of Kent on the certificate and diploma courses and also
delivered lectures on Professional Ethics. I worked on confidential
specialist projects in the NHS and with KCC Emergency Planning as a
consultant and trainer. I have worked as a counsellor, supervisor and
trainer for several organisations. I am a senior BACP
accredited counsellor and have two degrees in psychology (BSc hons and
MSc) and a Doctorate in Psychotherapy by professional studies (Middlesex
University/Metanoia Institute).
During the process of my doctorate research I developed the unique model
of the Therapeutic Entrepreneur© (2007) and am delivering workshops
on the subject Locally, Nationally and Internationally. My research
continues and builds on my past research experience which focuses on
Social Regeneration from people perspective (1997 - to date), A Client
Centered Approach to Eating Disorders (1997). Maintenance Factors in
Anxiety Disorders (1995). In 2009 I will be working on a European Project
exploring the role of Creativity for disadvantaged social groups which
builds on my work in the UK.
In recent years I have worked at supporting and helping organisations
to develop their teams and reduce work place stress. I have setup four
successful community based services for disadvantaged groups and philanthropic
activity is still very much part of my business approach. Since 2009
I have been the co-ordinating European projects and working in Europe
as a consultant.
